All students are welcome at our Bible Talks, small groups, etc. However, FOCUS (Fellowship of Overseas Christian University Students) is a part of NCS which is specifically catered to international students. FOCUS is a place to meet friends, practise and improve your English, and learn about Jesus while you study at the University of Newcastle.
FOCUS Newcastle Harbour Tour
If you are an international student studying at the University of Newcastle and would like to meet some new friends on a tour of Newcastle Harbour, come and join FOCUS for our Newcastle Harbour Tour.
The tour will start at Nobby’s Beach Carpark then continue across the harbour to Stockton via the Newcastle-Stockton Ferry for fish and chips for dinner and then back again.
You can make your own way to Nobby’s Beach by catching the FREE City Campus shuttle bus form Callaghan Campus or we will be providing lifts from Math’s Bus Stop (Near CT Building) at Callaghan Campus from 4:30pm. Please contact 0466831437 if you would like somebody to drive your from Callaghan Campus or if you would like directions for how to get to Nobby’s Beach. Please bring an Opal Card or credit card that can be used for public transport and some money for fish and chips for dinner (roughly $10-15).

FOCUS Shopping Trip
Are you an international student studying at the University of Newcastle and don’t know where to go shopping? Or maybe you just want to come shopping (because you love shopping). FOCUS are going shopping together on the 27th of February!! Meet at Math’s bus stop at Callaghan Campus at 5pm and we will catch the bus together to Kotara Westfield for a tour of the closest large shopping mall in Newcastle.
WE MEET DURING SEMESTER EVERY FRIDAY!!
1st of November – This week, we are all going to celebrate the end of semester by running Friday FOCUS at 14 Bakeri Cct, Warabrook from 6:30pm for dinner, Bible study and a fun end of year FOCUS Quiz. If you want to join please contact 0466831437. We can also assist you with arranging transport if this is needed.
FOCUS usually meets weekly at Friday FOCUS at Richardson Wing in the upper level from 6:30om (unless we have a special event or outing), our all-in gathering to hang out, enjoy good food, study the Bible, and pray together. If you need directions we can meet you at the Bus Stop near V Building at Callaghan Campus at 6pm. WE WILL NOT BE MEETING at RICHARDSON WING after the 25th of October.
