The God of Science

We all know the story – the dawning of the Enlightenment brings hope to the despair, ignorance, superstition and intolerance of a Dark Ages ruled by the church.

But what if you’ve been sold a pup?
What if this isn’t the full story – or even the true story?
What if scientists and rationalists can be Christian?
What if Christianity makes sense of science?

Meet the God of Science this Wed night.

Meet Mike Paget

Mike Paget lives & works in the inner city of Sydney with his wife Fe, who is totally out of his league, and 4 awesome kids. Mike is the senior minister at St Barnabas Broadway and chaplain to USyd and UTS, and looks forward to global warming bringing the beach closer to the inner west. Mike Paget

Mike will speaking at The God of Science on Wednesday night

And Mission Week is all about talking to lots of people :-)

The Heavens Declare!

The Heavens Declare the Glory of God. The skies proclaim the work of his hands

This is a quote from a reasonably famous piece of Jewish poetry. It was written by their second King, David, way back around 1000 BC.
And it’s a pretty interesting thought don’t you think? When you look at the skies, you cannot help but see God. Let me quote a bit more of the psalm/poem.

Psalm 19
For the director of music. A psalm of David.
The heavens declare the glory of God;
the skies proclaim the work of his hands.
Day after day they pour forth speech;
night after night they display knowledge.
There is no speech or language
where their voice is not heard.

According to David the skies chatter away about God constantly in every language. Every single person on the globe can hear what they have to say regarding  their creator.
