As I’ve chatted with atheists and sceptics and read their books and blogs, it’s struck me that there are a few key differences in how we approach the Bible. My friends who are atheists have noticed this too.
.
This informal seminar will offer some tips from a Christian perspective on how to read the Bible. My aim is pretty simple – just to help atheists and sceptics understand where Christians are coming from.
.
All welcome. An RSVP on facebook would be helpful so I know how much snackage is required.

Our house is across the road from uni. If you need the address contact me on 0448 005 427 or martinshadwick {at} gmail(.)com

Tired of wearing the same old unwashed clothes to uni every day? Feel trapped in a cycle of faded shirts, frayed jeans and scuffed shoes? Do you long for a reason to feel silk against your skin and/or use that fancy aftershave your mum bought you in the vain hope you would need it someday? Are you dying to bust out those heels or (if your name is Roger) that cravat you’ve been saving?
NEVER FEAR – we have the event for you!

Those who had been scattered preached the word wherever they went. (Acts 8:4)
.
Within NCS lots of students are plugging away in mission teams, working together to proclaim the gospel of Christ. This is great! There’s nothing like having some brothers-in-arms in evangelism.
.
But there are also Lone Rangers. Maybe you’re the only Christian in your class. Maybe you’re the only Christian in your group of friends. Maybe you’re the only Christian in the uni Graeco-Roman Wrestling society.
.
Does that mean you hide away and stop living for Christ and speaking for him? Of course not! You’re soldiering on for the gospel, but in your mission field it’s just you and the Holy Spirit. Some of you find that really tough. Others are inspired by the challenge. Whichever it is, being “scattered” doesn’t stop you from preaching the word wherever you go.
.
If you’re a Lone Ranger, I’d like to invite you to brunch on Friday 14th May. I want to get some of our solo Christians together so we can encourage one another, share stories and war wounds, pray, and spur one another on in the gospel. After all, even Lone Rangers need a Tonto every now and then. And we’ll have some great food too – guaranteed!
.
Hope to see you there!
