Most of us are all too familiar with this screen

Well, after sitting in front of a computer for the last half an hour, loading rego pages at half the speed of a snail, I can with much relief sit back and relax in the knowledge that I have my classes, and there are no major clashes. As we all know, there are a number of different things that we need to take into account when entering combat with the hulking beast we know as the registration system.

Foremost of these reasons for me (and I hope for others) is getting Wednesday afternoons free so that we can catch the mussive program of talks that NCS has lined up for us this semester (PLUG: Wednesdays, 4pm, Life Sciences Theatre). But also there’s the other considerations such as what days can I get off, how do avoid being at uni until 8pm on a Friday night (glad I don’t have that again) and which gaps in my timetable will be big enough for me to get over to International House to smack up Sam at FIFA10.

Now then, I’ve fought and triumphed over the beast again for another semester and now I’m itching to hear Greg’s talks come week 1, now all we have to do is work out a time for a committee meeting…

  1. My suggestion (as a completely un-tech savvy person who doesn’t know if this is even possible) is for a facebook-esque like button. Then I could ‘like’ Miriam’s pretty cranes and ‘like’ Roger’s tute rant without having to come up with something of substance to say. I get that you probably want more of the substance and less of the mindless ‘like’-ing, but sometimes ‘like’-ing is all one has in oneself and the writers of said liked posts still deserve, in this instance, to be told they (the posts) are liked… With me?
